Three People, One Desk in Cheltenham
Waffle Cheltenham is a three-person editorial shop covering UK no-wagering casino offers. We are based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Every casino on the site is tested by the person who wrote the review, using a real account, real deposit, and real withdrawal. No exceptions.
Our Remit — Narrow on Purpose
There are hundreds of UK casino affiliate sites. Most try to cover the full market: deposit bonuses, no-deposit offers, free spins, cashback, VIP schemes, live dealer, slots, bingo, sports bets. Breadth does not help the reader. If a site reviews two hundred operators, nobody on that team has played a meaningful session at most of them.
We made the opposite choice: a narrow remit we can actually honour. No wagering free spins at UKGC-licensed UK casinos, and nothing else. Twenty operators on the current homepage list. Five supporting topical pages. Every review on this site is written by someone who funded a real deposit, played the spins, and attempted a withdrawal. If we add a new operator, we test it first. If an existing operator changes its terms, we re-test before leaving the entry in place.
The consequence is that we miss the hundreds of offers outside our remit. We do not cover sportsbooks, bingo sites, lottery products, or casinos that run only matched-deposit bonuses. That is by choice. Affiliate sites with wide remits either outsource the testing or skip it entirely. We chose a scope small enough that outsourcing is not tempting.
Funding — How We Pay the Rent
Waffle Cheltenham is a commercial affiliate. When a reader registers at a casino through a link on this page, we earn a commission from that operator. That commission is how the site is funded, and we are upfront about it.
What the commission does not do: determine the ranking. Every ranking decision on the homepage is made from test data first. The first ranking factor is objective offer value (spin count, per-spin value, max cashout cap). The second is trust indicators (UKGC licence age, complaint history, withdrawal speed from our testing). The third is commercial terms — by which we mean whether we are paid at all, not which operator pays the highest rate.
Operators who offer higher commission rates than their peers do not move up the ranking. Operators who offer no commission are still listed if their offer is strong enough — we have a running entry for BitCasino (no UK commercial relationship) on the research queue, listed for completeness. The ranking sits on the offer quality alone.

Our Editorial Standards — The Specifics
A few things we do, and a few we do not.
We do:
- Test every offer with a real deposit from a personal card or PayPal account. No test accounts, no sandbox mode.
- Attempt a withdrawal of the free spin winnings after playing through the spin allocation. Record the time from request to funds arriving.
- Re-test every offer quarterly. Terms change; a review from January may not reflect April reality.
- Disclose commission relationships on every page and page that earns commission from the operator discussed.
- List the UKGC licence number of every operator we recommend.
- Publish our test date on every review card so you can check how current the review is.
We do not:
- Run sponsored content. We do not accept payment to feature an operator, promote a specific offer, or soften a review.
- Accept "editorial partnerships" that let an operator influence what we write.
- Write about any casino without testing the offer first.
- Accept hospitality from operators we cover — no paid trips, no gifted freebies, no comped rooms.
- Rely on secondary sources for offer terms. If we cannot read the terms directly from the operator site, we do not list the offer.
Contact and Corrections
If you spot an error on any page — an outdated offer, a misattributed quote, a broken link, a factual slip on regulation — tell us and we fix it. The email is [email protected]. The postal address is in the site footer if you prefer paper.
We respond to every correction notice within two working days. Material corrections are logged at the bottom of the relevant page with a date and short description of what changed.
Why Cheltenham
The short version: it is where the three of us live. Cheltenham is a Regency spa town in Gloucestershire, population around 117,000, best known outside the gambling industry for the Cheltenham Festival — the four-day horse racing event held at Prestbury Park every March. For readers interested in the longer answer, the town has an overlooked connection to the gambling research community: it hosts GCHQ, and several of the UK's gambling harm research studies from 2018 onward were published by Cheltenham-based statisticians at various affiliated bodies. None of that shaped the site's founding. The site is in Cheltenham because we are.
We work out of a shared office in Cheltenham town centre. The postal address in the footer is correct; post sent there reaches us.
